Dr. Echenique comes to the bay area with experience in private practice, teleradiology and academic radiology. Dr Echenique has been practicing radiology since 1996. She graduated from University of Miami with a double major in anthropology and biology, and was awarded membership to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr Echenique was awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in her junior year being elected President of the Society during her senior year. At graduation she received the John Foman award in Surgery and graduated first in her class.
Following a surgical internship at the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, she completed a radiology residency at the University of Miami and was awarded the honor of Chief Resident in her final year. Completing a fellowship in Vascular-Interventional Radiology at the Sylvester Cancer Center, where her studies included vascular intervention, trauma, interventional-oncology, and extensive experience with transplant intervention, Dr Echenique was invited to serve as an assistant professor in Vascular Interventional Radiology and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor. She remains on the staff serving as voluntary Associate Professor in Radiology and has an ongoing focus on resident education.
Dr Echenique’s clinical interests include transplantation and interventional-oncology and she continues her relationship with the University of Miami / Sylvester Cancer Center keeping current with emerging cutting edge interventional technologies.
