Courtnay Bloomer, MD

Dr. Bloomer has subspecialty expertise in Neuroradiology and specializes in Adult and Pediatric Neuroradiology, as well as head, neck and ophthalmologic imaging. Additionally, she has subspecialty training in Trauma Radiology from the prestigious Ryder Trauma Center with interest in acute care imaging.
Dr. Bloomer obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley, majoring in anthropology. She completed a 3 year stint in neurological imaging as a staff research associate at the University of California at San Francisco before obtaining her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She completed her residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital where she served as Chief Resident her final year. She completed a 2 year fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California at San Francisco with emphasis on spinal interventional procedures. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and will sit for her Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology November 2010. She continues an active research interest with over 16 published peer-reviewed paper and book chapters as well as 24 abstracts.
Dr. Bloomer lives in San Francisco with her husband and infant son, Cole. She enjoys running, practicing Spanish, traveling, and spending time with her family.
